The Volusion Application Programming Interface (API) is powerful features of Volusion. In the hands of an experienced programmer the API allows you to connect your Volusion web store to third party applications so that sharing information on order, products etc is possible.

For example, a vendor may be using an existing accounting package that is used for generating invoices and managing stock and needs the ability to import sales orders directly into this package from Volusion.

If the software allow data to be imported then the API can normally be programmed to export the data in a format that is compatible.
